Cow & Gate Nutriprem Breastmilk Fortifier Cow & Gate Nutriprem Breastmilk Fortifier is part of the Cow & Gate Nutriprem range, the only complete range of feeds specially formulated for low birthweight and preterm infants.
Cow & Gate Nutriprem Breastmilk Fortifier is a breastmilk supplement for low birthweight infants fed human milk, particularly those having a very low birthweight (<1500g) and before suckling has been established (at approx 34-36 weeks gestation). It can be added to a mother`s own expressed breastmilk, or to donor breastmilk. This product should only be used under the close supervision of a neonatologist.
Cow & Gate nutriprem breastmilk fortifier is available to hospitals only, in sachets containing 2.1g powder, and is available in boxes containing 50 sachets.

Cow & Gate Nutriprem 1 Cow & Gate Nutriprem 1 low birthweight formula is part of the Cow & Gate Nutriprem range, the only complete range of feeds specially formulated for preterm and low birthweight infants.
Nutriprem 1 low birthweight formula has been specially developed and formulated in line with the latest guidelines in preterm nutrition; the Tsang 2005 guidelines and the Klein 2002 recommendations1,2. It provides energy and nutrient levels which support intrauterine growth rates with a lower volume intake than is required when either human milk or infant milk is used. It is enriched with prebiotic oligosaccharides, LCPs (AA & DHA) in amounts recommended by the Munich Consensus3, nucleotides, vitamins and minerals to meet the requirements of growing Extremely Low Birth Weight (ELBW) and Very Low Birth Weight (VLBW) preterm infants.
Cow & Gate Nutriprem 1 low birthweight formula is compliant with the latest guidelines in preterm nutrition, therefore this should reduce the need for additional nutrient supplementation for growing preterm infants1,2.
Cow & Gate Nutriprem 1 low birthweight formula is available to hospitals only as a sterilised, ready to feed milk in a 60ml bottle.

Cow & Gate Nutriprem 2 is a nutrient-rich, post-discharge formula which has been developed to meet the increased nutritional needs of preterm and low birthweight infants prior to and once discharged from hospital. Cow & Gate Nutriprem 2 has higher levels of nutrients than infant milks to enable optimum catch-up growth and development for preterm infants1,2,3. It can be used for infants until 6 months corrected age. It is nutritionally complete - enriched with prebiotic oligosaccharides, LCPs (AA & DHA), nucleotides and vitamins and minerals to meet the requirements of growing preterm bottlefed infants after hospital discharge.
Cow & Gate Nutriprem 2 is available in a 900g EaZypack and 200ml ready to feed Tetrapak. It is also available to hospitals only as a sterilised, ready to feed milk in a 100ml bottle. Cow & Gate Nutriprem 2 ready to feed Tetrapaks and EaZypacks of powder may be prescribed for catch-up growth in preterm (<35 weeks at birth) infants up to 6 months corrected age.

The Cow & Gate Nutriprem range of formula milks is only the first step on the journey of nutrition for bottlefed preterm infants. Once a baby reaches 6 months corrected age, and Cow & Gate Nutriprem 2 is no longer required, then babies can move on to other milks in the Cow & Gate range.
